I am running for the Board of Education because I want to transfer my passion, experience and leadership skills to help build a successful future for all of our children. Our schools are considered some of the best in the country, however, the school experience has not been the same for every student. Our achievement gap is widening and opportunities have not always been made available on an equitable basis. I am a strong community advocate and a dedicated volunteer with several education programs in the county. Let me put my experience and skills to work on the Montgomery County Board of Education.

Experience - Leadership - Community Advocate

Females Achieving and Maintaining Excellence (FAME)

If it’s Monday you can find me at the Blake High School.  This is the 5th year that I have worked with a mentoring program through the National Council of Negro Women with the young ladies at Blake HS called Females Achieving and Maintaining Excellence.  I am so proud of the work that we have been doing in that school.  We are making a difference in the lives of these young women.

Did you know? - All Montgomery County Residents can vote  for all school board candidates regardless of where they live.

In Maryland, voter registration is permanent as long as you keep your Maryland address current,  and you should continue to receive election materials in the mail.  If you move within the state, you must notify the new jurisdiction of your change of address. If you move to another state, you must re-register in that jurisdiction.

I have been very fortunate to have paths intersect with people like Congressman Jamie Raskin (US House of Representatives, Maryland District 8) and am honored by his kind words. "Brenda Wolff has been a stalwart champion for public schools and our kids and I very much look forward to working with her in the years ahead."

"Brenda Wolff has the unique experiences and leadership skills necessary to ensure desired outcomes for all MCPS students.

She has held numerous management and leadership positions in the US Department of Education including Director of the National Institute on Educational Governance, Finance, Policymaking and Management; Acting Director of the National Institute on Education of At-Risk Students; and Senior Program manager for the National Assessment of Educational Progress where she managed a $129 million budget.

She is actively involved in education advocacy organizations and devotes an impressive number of volunteer hours with several mentoring programs. Brenda is an education advocate who will work diligently to eliminate disparities and increase education opportunities on an equitable basis.

I strongly support and endorse Brenda Wolff for the Montgomery County Board of Education."
